It’s just over a week until Masters Athletics returns to East Lancashire. The meeting which is open to athletes over 35 years of age is on Wednesday 15th May at Burnley AC and is a new addition to the NMAC Track and Field Series calendar.

If it is well supported it will become a permanent fixture from next year.

The order of events will alter for this fixture to allow athletes to run events they would not normally be able to do ‘fresh’. This again will continue next year if the feedback is positive.

The order of events for the track will be:
1500m, 400m, 100m, 3000m, short break, 200m and 800m

The field events on offer are: Shot, Discus, High Jump and Long Jump

The need for officials is a nationwide problem in athletics and we are no different, for these meetings to take place we need qualified officials and i hope anyone reading this can spread the word at their local club to see if we can add to the officials who have already committed to help.
