It seems like an eternity since we were all together at the club preparing for the upcoming track season. In recent weeks many of you will have seen the slight easing of the lockdown measures and other sports starting to return to some kind of restricted training.

Unfortunately reopening the track to athletes isn’t quite as simple as many think it is, there are many procedures to implement and the guidance from governing bodies has to be followed strictly to ensure training is a safe environment for athletes, coaches and spectators to return to. We will not consider reopening the club until we are 100% sure we can follow the guidance fully and are happy that all eventualities are planned for.

We will keep our members informed as soon as there is a change to the current situation but it is expected that when we do reopen, social distancing measures and limited training groups sizes will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

The latest guidance from England Athletics issued on Monday 1st June is linked below:-

So we can all stay connected as a club, tomorrow we will be launching the Mid Lancs Challenge, where all athletes, coaches and parents can participate towards a common goal.

More to follow on Wednesday……

Thank you and stay safe
